Schedule
and health prevented me from chasing much in
2007, but I did get a few pictures from the
storms I did chase. The last 4
photographs were from a storm cell I chased
to the Missouri border on October 17.
Later that day this storm system produced
tornadoes just outside of Springfield.
I stopped
to shoot this auto accident, mainly to test
my new camera. The occupants had to be
cut out of the black car by rescue workers
and were transported to the hospital in
critical condition.
These
photographs were taken in the Ouachita
Mountains in Oklahoma while chasing a storm
that (after a few hundred miles of driving)
became a "non-event". However, I did
enjoy traveling the winding roads through
the mountains.
I began
chasing storms again in 2006. These
photographs were taken while chasing a storm
into Northern Tulsa County. I ended up
in Southern Washington County to witness a
great show of lightening - and 80 MPH winds.
Over 100
degrees at the Tulsa County Zoo, as you can
tell by the bear with his butt up against
the cool concrete in the picture below.
We didn't stay too long, but I did snap a
few photographs before we melted.
I
actually went to Coffeyville to visit the
childhood home of my mother. While
there, I found some very interesting things
to photograph including some old
architecture, the Condon Bank (the location
of the Dalton Boys last robbery) and the
alley where most of the Dalton gang were
killed.
